Fourou

Fourou belongs to a group of Saharan Duneclickers, known to the Amazigh people as the Kherazai. They are among the rare species adapted to the harsh environment of the Southern Maghreb, a hyper-arid region of the Sahara where rainfall is scarce and erratic.

To survive the unforgiving heat, the Duneclickers have evolved a hard, waxy carapace covered in reflective body hairs. This functions as an anti-reflective layer, helping to minimize water loss under the scorching sun. At the center of their thorax lies a circular orifice lined with crystalline teeth. This secondary feeding organ has double function: grinding down tough exoskeletons and filtering out the life-sustaining fluids inside. They excrete waste not as liquid, but as fine uric acid crystals, conserving every possible drop of internal moisture. Some say the Kherazai carry a scent of cinnamon.

Fourou and his kin make their homes beneath the wind-swept dunes ,the ergs, burrowing into the sand in intricate tunnel systems. They lead a nomadic existence, moving in search of minerals for trade and prey for sustenance. Among the dunes, ritual duels act as a test for swordfighting skills and tribal hierarchy. Fourou observes, he has seen and lived through enough tribal wars and will serve as a Judge in these trials.
